About abuses commited by catholic priests

Mmm I think catholic church is in crisis before these news. Nowadays there are many people joining to other religions, there’s a lot of people that don’t believe in the institution of church and there are people that don’t even believe in god. So catholicism is losing strength.
I think catholic church had a lot of power and now it doesn’t. Well, it still has power, but not too much, and it’s not considereded an unquestionable authority, as it was in the past.
Maybe in the past there were priests who commited abuses, but the people affected by that didn’t have the courage to say it, because of the implications that could have to acuse one of the most important authorities of commiting an awful crime. Today, I think that catholic church doesn’t have the privilege or the social position of years ago so it’s easier for the affected ones to tell their stories.
Also, I think that those crimes doesn’t involve all catholic priests, I prefer not to generalize. If a few priests made bad things it doesn’t mean that all priests are bad. Unfortunately, some people generalize and they are probably thinking very bad things about that, so catholic church is in big trouble.

What I love about movies

First of all, I’ve loved films since I was a child , I think what I love about them is that every film presents a new world. Each movie has its own story, characters, problems, music and everything. Also, movies teach you things, I’ve learnt a lot about them. Every time I watch a good movie I get so involved that I feel like I’m there, maybe I’m not like the principal character or a second one, but I feel like I’m IN it. So I learn new things from a story hapenning in a tv or a cinema! ... and I think that’s great, because it’s unique.
I dont know if I explain myself very well, probably not, because what I feel is hard to describe and I suposse it’s hard to understand too (especially if you haven’t felt anything similar). Maybe it reads like I’m exaggerating, but I’m not. Films are one of my greatest passions and I know this is not going to change, just as I heard in a recent movie : “A man can change many things, except his passions”

the earthquake

The night of the earthquake i was in my home in Chiloe island so my experience wasn't so bad (it's far from the epicentre)
I was in my bed trying to sleep when the lights of the street turned off (there's a street light just outside my window) . I thought it was normal, so I got up and went to see my city from my window (because i love how it looks when it's absolutely dark! ). I stayed there a few seconds and decided to comeback to my bed when suddenly everything started moving, but it wasn't so long, and it wasn't so strong neither, so i just went to see my brother and he was ok, so i went to bed and started sleeping (i never thought the tremor could be product of an earthquake!).

Next day in the morning, my cousin woke me up and told me everything. The first thing i did was asking about my mum (cause she was in Santiago), but Andrea (my cousin) told me she was fine. I got up and see the news... i got surprised in a very bad way because some people have died and tv showed awful things.

In a short time it get worse. I mean ..in the places near the epicentre, because in my city there were not big problems. And fortunately all my family and friends were fine.

Everytime I watched tv I felt really sad, the number of dead people was increasing, and the images were just awful. I felt useless. And there was a time, about three days after the earthquake that I couldn't watched tv, I just felt really, really sad about it.

Hm.. I think I've written too much so I better stop here. Bye!
